Professional Business Card

Client: Amy Baulch - Always Looking Beautiful

Amy is a freelance Hair Stylist and Beautician who came to me looking for an original design for her professional business card, and watermark, as well as a clean design for her business information. For the draw graphic she wanted a caricature of herself, which incorporated the elements of her beauty skills. I first hand drew the separate components: beauty tools, figure, braid, and floral decals, then complied them together into the design above using Adobe Photoshop to digitally paint each component. I then added a script font with the company name.

The graphic of Amy was very detailed and colorful, so I decided to go with a more minimalistic approach on the business information portion of the card. I chose four different fonts, creating the header ALB with “Always Looking Beautiful” cutting through the center. Then, in order to decrease the visual density of the remaining type, I increased the tracking creating a balanced look throughout the design.
